DJ Irene is an electronic music artist who has been called Americas number 1 female DJ. She started DJ’ing at the age of 14 while in high school in Hawaii. Since then she has released mix albums at a frantic pace. Just as frantic is the pace of her mixing. She often mixes 30 to 40 tracks during a given mix album.
Although she favors house music, she tends to make her records sound ""hard"" by pitching them up and mixing them quickly. Since 1997, the ""Global House Diva"" has released multiple albums every year, with 1998 being a particularly busy year for her with four releases. Initially tagged as a hard house DJ, Irene has changed her style over the years, introducing more progressive house and trance into her sets, along with the occasional rave classics and popular songs-of-the-moment.
Irene has always emphasized fun rather than strict adherence to a particular style and her growing fan base seems to like her approach - packing venues and consistently buying her multi-annual releases.
