DJ Spinna’s accomplishments far surpass those of most DJs, yet he has remained strictly an underground artist despite his astonishing talent. This New York DJ remixed tracks for many artists including Solstice and Nightmares on Wax. He has also produced for a number of artists including Guru and J-Live, and his own rap group, Jigmastas. Jigmastas, which consisted of DJ Spinna and MC Kriminul, debuted in 1996 with the single “Beyond Real,” which they released on their own independent label. In 2001 and 2002, DJ Spinna helped a few labels release compilations including Raiding the Crates for Chicago deep house label Guidance and Strange Games and Things for BBE.
